Here’s a few shots from a recent shoot for AndrewStephen Hairdressing in Barnes. It was a great fun job and we had to shoot portraits of all the staff and then interiors of the refurbished saloon to update their website. All images ©Adrian Lyon.
It’s update time and so along with a few new still life and landscape images I’ve just launched a new section in my portfolio featuring interiors and exteriors. There’s some work from recent shoots for interior designers and developers plus there’s more new shots to come for this section soon. It’s really enjoyable work and although a different discipline to shooting in the studio it’s very complimentary work. Here’s another cover shoot for HiFi Plus, this time of the exquisitely crafted Sonus Faber Amati. More images from the shoot were used to open and illustrate the review. I really enjoy getting to grips with curves and highly polished finishes of these products which is always an exciting challenge to light, I just wish they weren’t so heavy! Following on from my last post about shooting interiors this is an example on a similar theme from a recent life style interior shoot for Leema Acoustics. New in the projects portfolio section is a selection of images from a shoot for Pfizer art directed by Sam Mahon for TBWA Palin Walters. These were shot as a two camera collaboration along with fellow photographer Chris Holland as the client required a huge range of material from each life story scenario with multiple view points from the actions of the characters in unrepeatable situations. It was a fantastic whirl wind of a shoot, go take a look here!

Amongst the Hi-Fi press it’s a title I’ve long wanted to work for so it’s pleasing to have shot the Ayre QB-9 DAC for the cover and lead review. Here’s a spread from one of my recent shoots for T3 which can be seen in the May 2010 issue. Having found and shot a suitable location the phones were then shot individually in the studio to match the angle and perspective to their position in the location shot. Subsequently the components parts were assembled in Photoshop to create the final image. All images © Adrian Lyon.
One of the nice things about product photography is I’m quite often amongst the first to get hold of the latest cool technology gadgets and the iPad is no exception, all be it, an all to brief visit to the studio. In best Apple style it is of course great to look at, handles beautifully and is very slick in operation, although I’m not entirely sure how useful it will be for photography. A busy spring so far has seen amongst others Kudos’s fabulous speakers through the studio. The whole range was covered to create a new image bank for marketing and PR as well as a new website – kudosaudio.com.
I have a pair of these myself and I’m a big fan, Derek has the Midas touch when it comes to designing speakers and I thoroughly recommend an audition. All images ©Adrian Lyon.
