These are a two of my favorite shots of the Magico Q1 speakers and Jadis JA120 amp from a couple of recent shoots for HiFi+ magazine. Both are gorgeous products and phenomenally expensive too, but worth every penny, I’m told… (guys, may be next time I could borrow them for while?). If ever you need a location for a photo-booth style shoot then you could do a lot worse than the London Film Museum. I recently had to set up this shoot to fit in with a gala dinner as part of a IBM European conference. The dinner was hosted at the museum which is in the old GLC building on the South Bank so we went for a back stage at the movies style set and bit of glamorous lighting which all the delegates loved. New in the projects portfolio section is a selection of images from a shoot for Pfizer art directed by Sam Mahon for TBWA Palin Walters. These were shot as a two camera collaboration along with fellow photographer Chris Holland as the client required a huge range of material from each life story scenario with multiple view points from the actions of the characters in unrepeatable situations. It was a fantastic whirl wind of a shoot, go take a look here!

Here’s our studio mailer as a reminder we have a superbly equipped south London studio base with two shooting areas and drive in access attached to a Victorian house which is often used for additional locations. People photographer Chris Holland and I combine on shoots to work as a two camera unit or run multiple sets ups in the studio to improve productivity, budgets and scheduling. Here’s the cover from a recent shoot for HiFi+ (April/May 2010 issue). Amongst the Hi-Fi press it’s a title I’ve long wanted to work for so it’s pleasing to have shot the Ayre QB-9 DAC for the cover and lead review. One of the nice things about product photography is I’m quite often amongst the first to get hold of the latest cool technology gadgets and the iPad is no exception, all be it, an all to brief visit to the studio. In best Apple style it is of course great to look at, handles beautifully and is very slick in operation, although I’m not entirely sure how useful it will be for photography. A busy spring so far has seen amongst others Kudos’s fabulous speakers through the studio. The whole range was covered to create a new image bank for marketing and PR as well as a new website – kudosaudio.com.
