New cover shoot for HiFi+

Here’s the cover from a recent shoot for HiFi+ (April/May 2010 issue). Amongst the Hi-Fi press it’s a title I’ve long wanted to work for so it’s pleasing to have shot the Ayre QB-9 DAC for the cover and lead review. It’s part of series I’m working on looking at items which have played a part in our lives and then been discarded as we move on to the next newer or better thing, perhaps forgetting some of the moments shared along the way. New photography and retouching for T3

Here’s a spread from one of my recent shoots for T3 which can be seen in the May 2010 issue. Having found and shot a suitable location the phones were then shot individually in the studio to match the angle and perspective to their position in the location shot. Subsequently the components parts were assembled in Photoshop to create the final image. All images © Adrian Lyon.

Apple iPad comes to the studio

One of the nice things about product photography is I’m quite often amongst the first to get hold of the latest cool technology gadgets and the iPad is no exception, all be it an all to brief visit to the studio. In best Apple style it is of course great to look at, handles beautifully and is very slick in operation, although I’m not entirely sure how useful it will be for photography. New photography for Kudos Audio

A busy spring so far has seen amongst others Kudos’s fabulous speakers through the studio. The whole range was covered to create a new image bank for marketing and PR as well as a new website – kudosaudio.com.

I have a pair of these myself and I’m a big fan, Derek has the Midas touch when it comes to designing speakers and I thoroughly recommend an audition. All images ©Adrian Lyon.

On the road to Marysville…

While travelling in Australia over Christmas one of the things high on my list was to visit and photograph the area north of Melbourne ravaged by bush fires almost a year ago.
